An array of waxes, oils, shatter, and other concentrate forms can be produced when raw cannabis is purified with organic solvents. Remaining solvents in the product after extraction can be concentrated to toxic levels. With such diversity, it is important to verify product safety across all of your product lines. Solvents approved for use in the production of cannabis oil are listed here.

Registered Medical Dispensaries are required to test for residual solvents only for cannabis resins and concentrates when solvents have been used in the production process. Viridis follows testing protocols for Residual Solvents set by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP Chapter <467>).

Viridis offers a screen test for ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, or butane if used in your processing, as well as complete analysis of 54 residual solvents using a dedicated headspace autosampler interfaced to a gas chromatograph equipped with flame ionization and mass selective detectors (HS-GC-FID-MS).
